CDH Investment Bank supports investment in developing agri-finance solutions in Malawi

CDH Investment Bank donated K1.68m to the Bankers Association of in support of the Malawi Agri-Finance Conference which took place from 11th – 12th July 2024 at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe. CDH Investment Bank recognizes the critical role of Malawi’s agricultural sector in the nation’s economy, livelihoods, and food security.To address the challenges faced by the sector, Bankers Association of Malawi, in partnership with the Farmers Union of Malawi, organised the conference held called the theme “Fostering Collective Impact: Collaborative Efforts to Propel Agricultural Sustainability Forward.”

The agri-finance conference is an annual indaba organized by Bankers Association of Malawi to offer an opportunity to key stakeholders from the country’s agriculture sector to brainstorm on measures for improving the sector’s input to the economy.

The conference attracted financial institutions, government bodies, agribusinesses, technology innovators, and development partners, to drive a transformative agenda for Malawi’s agriculture. The sessions at the conference covered critical themes such as climate-smart agriculture, innovative financing models, digital solutions for smallholder empowerment, and policy frameworks for sustainable agriculture. The conference has provided input into policy revision and formulation and inspired concrete actions to foster agricultural sustainability, leading Malawi towards a brighter agricultural future.
