What are the requirements for opening a personal current account?
To open a personal current account you need to have your Original ID (Passport or Driver’s licence), an introductory letter by employer or copy of a salary pay slip, copy of utility payment invoice or certified copy of tenancy agreement to confirm physical address.
What are the requirements for opening a corporate current account?
Open a corporate current account you need to have Original ID (Passport or Driver’s licence) for directors or signatories, partners and proprietors of the business, a copy of utility payment invoice or certified copy of tenancy agreement to confirm physical address, board resolution to open a current account with CDH Investment Bank, certificate of company registration or incorporation, copy of the memorandum and articles of association for limited companies and copies of recent audited accounts.
Why do accounts fall dormant?
Accounts fall dormant after six months of no transactions of either deposit or withdrawals. Accounts are dormatized to protect the customers’ money until they return to use their account actively. Cash deposits can be made into a dormant account but for withdrawals and cheque deposits the customer has to activate the account first.
Can I access my account online?
You can access your Account online via our Internet Banking Platform or the mobile banking known as CDHIB online. CDHIB Online is ideal for all accounts; you can register at any of our banking centres or agents. Registration is free; you will be able to perform a wide range of services wherever you may be. Internet banking is ideal for business, groups or individuals who would prefer to view and transact on their accounts from a computer screen. This service offers a wide range of banking service at the convenience of your home or office.
Can I get my statements via email?
Yes, you can get your statements via email if you had provided an email address when you opened your account. To update the email address in your account, visit your banking center with your original ID and a copy and fill in a Static Data Change Form and also request that your statements be sent via your email at a frequency of your choice.
How much do you charge to operate your accounts?
We do not charge ledger fees on our Prime Investors accounts. This means when you do not use your account, there will be no charges to it. However the other types of accounts attract minimal monthly ledger fees. Tariff guides are displayed in all our banking centres in Malawi for your information as well as on our website www.cdh-malawi.com.
I have lost my ATM card, what should I do?
The first thing you should do is to visit a banking centre near you or call the bank to block your card; this will prevent misuse of your card and secure funds in your account. To replace the lost card, visit the nearest banking centre or agent to apply for a replacement of the lost card.
I wish to update my postal address and phone number - how do i do it?
To update your Postal address or phone number, kindly visit your Bancking Centre with your Original ID and a copy, fill static data change forms. While there, ask the bank officer to update you on banking services you can access using your phone or internet.
How much loan do I qualify for?
The amount of loan you qualify for depends on how much money you can commit to repaying the loan every month. Other factors will be the type of loan applied, the purpose of the loan and duration. Besides CDH Investment Bank ATMs where else can I use my ATM card?
You can use your ATM card to deposit and withdraw cash at our Agent locations all over the country; you could also use your ATM card to pay for goods and services at various outlets, stores/supermarkets at no charge. You can also withdraw cash from your account in all the other banks ATM that are using the National Switch.
