John McGrath
Director

John is currently Managing Director of Imani Development (Malawi) Limited. He is also Director and shareholder of Imani Development International in Cape Town, South Africa responsible for Malawi, East, Central and Southern Africa, excluding South Africa. Between 1993 and 1997, John was Director and shareholder of Mountain Ridge Limited, a coffee farm. He also served as Chairman of Business Consult Africa, Industrial Development Group, GHC Haulage Trucking and Haulage Limited, Stephanos Children’s Home and Navigators Malawi. John was the Malawi Representative for African Management Services Company (AMSCO) between 1989 and 1991. John is also shareholder and chairman for the Kwikfit franchise group (motor tyre companies) in Malawi and Zambia

John has a strong background in business, economic development and public sector consulting.

Before joining Imani Development Limited, John worked with Business Development Africa Limited as Managing Director and Director (Malawi and South Africa). In 1988, John was appointed Managing Director for Sasfin Central Africa Limited. He also served as Managing Director of Financial Services Limited between 1992 and 1997.

John has a BSoc Sc in Business studiesand a BSoc (Honours) degree in Economics, both from the University of Cape Town.
