CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) basketball team emerged champions of the Southern Zone Basketball League (SOZOBAL) 2022/23 season tournament. The tournament was hosted by SOZOBAL and played in Blantyre. 

CDH Investment Bank participated in the Bankers’ Association of Malawi (BAM) 60 minutes with a banker financial literacy campaign. The bank encouraged students to work hard and grow an interest in matters concerning finance for the benefit of the economy. 

CDH Investment Bank interacted with students from Ndirande Hill Secondary School on Friday 5th May 2023 where they held a motivation talk and created awareness on the need for the youth to adopt a saving culture. 

CDH Investment Bank and members of other Continental Holdings Group companies attended the 2023 bankers’ sports day on Saturday 29th April 2023 at Reserve Bank of Malawi Sports Complex in Lilongwe.  

The CDH group staff members participated in the morning parade followed by participation in various sporting events on the day ranging from golf (Lilongwe Country Club), cycling, football, netball, basketball, bawo, egg race, sack race, pool, table tennis, squash, 100m races and tug of war. 

CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) has sponsored K15, 000,000.00 to Southern Zone Basketball League (SOZOBAL). K10,000,000.00 will be used for 2023 CDH Investment Bank Cup popularly known as “MONEY IN THE BANK Tournament” and K5,000,000 for 2022/2023 end of season CDHIB SOZOBAL Play Off series to start in May after conclusion of league games. 

Speaking on the sidelines of the presentation, CDH Investment Banks, Chief Credit Officer, Mr Sungani Mkandawire, shared that the bank has supported the association in managing the league as part of its corporate social responsibilities to promote sportsmanship, health and teamwork. 

CDH Investment Bank donated to the Malawi to the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) for the Malawi Exporters Awards which are scheduled to be held at Bingu International Conference Centre from 5th – 6th April 2023 in Lilongwe. The Exporters Awards is an initiative aimed at recognizing and celebrating achievements of local exporters.

Presenting the sponsorship on Tuesday 4th April 2023, Banking Centre Manager for CDH Investment Bank, Capital City Banking Centre, Mr Molius Mangaawuma said the bank is supporting the noteworthy activity that will support the national agenda to propel the export culture in Malawi and promote economic growth.
