Southern Zone Basketball League’s (SOZOBAL) has invited 11 men’s and women’s teams to compete in the 2023 CDH Investment Bank (CDHIB) ‘Money in the Bank’ invitational tournament from October 13-15 in Blantyre. 

SOZOBAL Director of Marketing and resource mobilization, Miranda Dula, said the men’s competition will comprise defending champions Kamuzu Barracks, Brave Hearts and Central Knights from the Central Region. Northern Regions Moyale Barracks and SOZOBAL’s CDHIB, Crazy Warriors and Bricks.

CDH Investment Bank contributed K9, 999, 995.78 on Monday 3rd July 2023, towards the 2023 Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Awards run by Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).

The support is part of the memorandum of understanding the bank and university signed that is earmarked for the agri-innovation challenge awards in the next three years.

CDH Investment Bank donated K7.9 million to Beit Cure International Hospital as part of its efforts to improve health in children. The donation was made during a handover ceremony at the hospital in Blantyre. 

Making the donation, CDH Investment Bank’s Chief Treasury Officer, Mr. Zondwayo Mafuleka shared that CDH Investment Bank values partnership and teamwork and is proud to support the hospital to conduct 7 life changing surgeries. CDH Investment Bank recognizes that people with disabilities make a positive contribution towards the achievement of social and economic development goals. To that extent, the Bank is committed to helping the health sector in creating an environment conducive for inclusive development.

CDH Investment Bank has assisted Bankers Association of Malawi (BAM) with a donation of K1.5 million towards the hosting of the 2023 Bankers Association of Malawi Lakeshore Conference from 17th to 20th August 2023 at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi under the theme “Banks for all, and development for all”.

At the cheque presentation ceremony which took place on Tuesday 8th August 2023 at the bank’s offices in Blantyre, Executive Director – Finance and Operations, Beatrix Mosiwa said they have decided to sponsor the conference as part of appreciating the advocacy role that BAM plays in uniting and guiding commercial banks in the country.

CDH Investment Bank has donated K2 million to the Financial Market Dealers Association (FIMDA) for the 2023 annual conference slated for 13th to 15th October 2023 at Sunbird Nkopola Hotel in Mangochi. The theme of the conference is “the role of financial markets in the attainment of MIP-1 Pillar 1: agricultural productivity and commercialization”.

Presenting the cheque in Blantyre, CDH Investment Bank Chief Treasury Officer Mr Zondwayo Mafuleka, said CDH Investment Bank decided to support the conference as a partner, as the bank appreciates the role FIMDA plays in enabling markets and addressing pertinent issues that affect forex exchange dealing, money market, fixed income, equity instruments and more in our financial market in Malawi.
