Chief Human Capital Development Officer
Michael joined CDHIB as the Chief Human Capital Development Officer on 1st June 2015. He is responsible for providing direction in the development and execution of human capital strategies that support the Bank’s overall strategic objectives. These include ensuring that the Bank has a sustainable pipeline by attracting, growing, empowering and retaining talent; developing leadership as a core competence; creating an environment where staff work with passion and feel profoundly connected to the Bank and improvement in processes, systems and tools for the effective management of employee life cycle events.
Michael has over 15 years of experience in Human Capital management. His areas of expertise include career management, performance management, change management, organizational development, training and development and industrial relations. He served in a similar capacity at Indebank between 2009 and 2014. Before joining Indebank, he worked with Standard Bank (Mw) Ltd from 2005 to 2009. He launched his career in Human Capital management with Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Ltd in the year 2000.
Michael holds a Master of Arts (Economics) degree and a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College.
